PokerStars is targeting a more ‘authentic’ offering by linking up with Evolution Gaming to launch a new live casino environment, Sam Hobcraft, director of casino at parent company Rational Group, has told

The new environment, which features nine live tables, is the largest to have been created by live dealer specialist Evolution for a licensee launch. It is also the first of its kind to utilise Evolution’s new multi-camera Immersive Lite studio installation.

While the environment itself features various PokerStars décor and branding, each dealer is also decked out in PokerStars uniforms to keep with the brand-specific theme.

The launch comes after PokerStars last year expanded its traditional poker-only offering to include online casino games. This began with a launch in Spain before it unveiled plans to open up the service to a global audience.

“We’ve launched the new live casino environment because we think these games will appeal to a broad array of players who enjoy the added level of authenticity and trust that comes from seeing the action occur with real life dealers,” Hobcraft told

“We feel that this will be a fun and exciting way for players to enjoy the games, especially while chatting and interacting with the attractive dealers in a PokerStars-branded environment.

“Players will particularly benefit from the convenience of playing poker, casino and live casino games in the same place, with the same protection of player funds, the same fast payment processing and the same trust that they have come to expect from PokerStars.

“We’re excited about adding this new service to our repertoire of gaming options so that we can be a ‘one-stop shop’ for a player’s online gaming entertainment needs.”

Hobcraft added that PokerStars would now target further growth through this project and additional initiatives throughout the year.

“We certainly do have aggressive plans to expand the service to our mobile and Mac customers later this year – and also add some further special PokerStars-style developments,” he added.
