The acquisition will bolster GLI’s presence in key European markets

Gaming Laboratories International (GLI), the New Jersey-based testing, certification and professional services group, has acquired NMi Metrology and Gaming for an undisclosed sum.

With offices in the UK, the Netherlands, Italy, Spain and Canada, NMi Gaming provides testing services for the casino, lottery, AWP, VLT and online gaming sectors.

The group has been acquired by GLI from parent company NMi Certin, which provides testing, calibration and verification services for a wide range of industries, including oil and gas, utilities and police enforcement.

According to GLI, the company will continue to operate under the NMi Gaming brand name “for the foreseeable future”.

“Customers can expect a ‘business-as-usual’ approach, while also being able to leverage GLI’s global presence to grow and enhance NMi Gaming’s services,” the group stated.

“The acquisition benefits NMi Gaming’s clients by providing them with instant global reach through GLI’s accredited 475 jurisdictions. Additionally, the transaction benefits GLI’s clients by allowing the firm to provide even greater levels of service and attention.”

GLI president and CEO James Maida said: “Over the last two years, GLI has completed multiple strategic acquisitions, such as Bulletproof, Kobetron and Gaming Informatics, which further enhance our business offerings and increase the level of customer service that the GLI Group provides to our gaming clients globally.

“Now, with the acquisition of NMi Gaming, we have created synergies that are beneficial to both NMi and GLI clients and provides additional bandwidth for even greater customer service.”

Totally Gaming says: Founded after the privatisation of the Dutch Legal Metrology Service in 1989, NMi Gaming has become a major force in the areas of iGaming, land-based certification and auditing. The acquisition will bolster GLI’s presence in key European markets, while allowing NMi to leverage its new owner’s worldwide coverage and jurisdictional expertise.
