Three new games are on schedule for launch in Q3 2018

GiG Games has chosen the “attractive location” of Marbella to open a new studio focused on the development of casino games.

GIG Games, a subsidiary of Gaming Innovation Group (GIG), has been established as another revenue pillar in GIG’s quest to provide a full iGaming and entertainment package, with the new games set to be sold to operators on a revenue share basis.

Mathias Larsson, the MD of GIG Games who has been involved in setting up shop since August, spoke to about choosing Marbella as the destination for the new studio.

“Marbella is a great place because it’s easier to attract top resources to come here,” he said. “There’s great weather, good schools, and it’s easy to travel. All in all, it provides a good lifestyle.

“A lot of people currently living in Malta will also find Marbella being a better option. And people in Scandinavian countries will of course find the weather being a lot better here.”

GIG Games has already made significant technological progress, with three games on schedule for launch in Q3 2018, while the company expects to be offering six games by the end of 2018.

Larsson continued: “We have opted to cover the basics from the start. We are currently working on our idea of a good Black Jack and Roulette game experience and are obviously very excited about developing our first slot game under GiG colours.”

He also confirmed that GiG Games expects to significantly scale up operations and increase its output of games once the first three games have been tested on GiG owned casino brands.

“To test new games on some of our GiG owned casino brands first obviously makes a lot of sense. With GiG’s standard of quality known across the industry we will go for the Tier 1 operators once all is tested and quality assured.”

Larsson concluded: “In 2019 and beyond, we intend to release games at the same speed as our competitors such as NetEnt, Yggdrasil and Quickspin.”

Totally Gaming says: GiG is building a strong team of developers and designers in Marbella, an attractive location for its new studio. Once initial testing and quality assurance is complete, the development of GiG Games will be accelerated, as one of GiG’s five key business areas.
