The final takes place at Grosvenor Casino Coventry

Goliath, the world’s biggest poker tournament outside of Las Vegas, heads to the Grosvenor Casino Coventry on July 27 to August 6.

Now in its fifth season, Goliath has grown to become a key event in the global poker calendar.

The tournament attracted more than 5,200 entrants last year, and according to Alex Martin, commercial manager for Grosvenor Casinos’ poker operations, this success is set to be replicated in 2017.

“Goliath is growing every year, which is mainly down to the increased live and online offerings we have available,” Martin told

“More players are now qualifying through our new online mobile product, which is increasing the appetite even more for amateurs and professionals alike.”

With a guaranteed prize pool of £250,000, Goliath satellite tournaments are currently running every night, before finalists descend on the iconic Grosvenor Casino Coventry at the Ricoh Arena for the 11-day live final.

Discussing the growing importance of online poker satellite events, Martin said: “We want players of all abilities to be able to enter our flagship events and satellites – that’s why we offer qualification via Grosvenor Live Steps satellite.

“This satellite gives players the chance to enter Goliath for as little as 25p. We believe satellites are the stepping stone many amateurs and pub players need to get themselves ahead in their poker careers.

“Goliath is a poker tournament which, we believe, is the vital spark a sustainable poker ecosystem needs.”

Totally Gaming says: More than 500 seats are guaranteed to online satellite players looking to take part in the Goliath 2017 final at Grosvenor Casino Coventry. Click here to enter for your chance to become a gaming giant.
