The not-for-profit initiative expressed great pride at having IGT on board

The industry driven initiative aimed at providing a new benchmark for diversity within the global betting and gaming sectors, the All-in Diversity Project, received a boost last week when IGT became a founding member and participant for its inaugural year.

The move affirms the commitment of the gambling technology supplier as it continues striving to improve company diversity, with it also appointing Kim Barker Lee to the newly created role of Vice President of Corporate Diversity & Inclusion.

She express that the initiative is a “groundbreaking” one and can help enable change within the industry on a global level. Speaking to TotallyGaming.com, she stated: "By partnering with the All-in Diversity Project, IGT is participating in a groundbreaking initiative that will help make profound changes, opening our industry to greater diversity and more diverse viewpoints and perspectives, and enabling our business community to deliver the innovation and creativity our customers and players demand.

"Through this partnership, we are helping to lay the foundation for our global gaming industry to gather data about the current state of inclusion, so we can understand the challenges that are unique to our business sector, and apply that information to enhance the visibility of women, people of color, and other under-represented groups.”

Formed in 2017 by gambling executives Kelly Kehn and Christina Thakor-Rankin, the All-in Diversity Project has expanded its mandate, gaining significant partnerships with Paddy Power Betfair, Caesars Entertainment and Clarion Gaming.

Commenting on the latest corporate partnership, Kehn told TotallyGaming.com: “The benefit of a more diverse workforce is not about celebrating what a company does for an underserved population or group of people. It's about what that underserved group brings to the business in terms of experience, talent and perspective. We are proud to have a company like IGT on board and embracing change through action.”

Totally Gaming says: Key endorsements for the initiative from the likes of Paddy Power and IGT show the gambling sector is receptive to change, with a long term goal of increasing inclusion and diversity in the industry. Additionally, these acquisitions emphasise that the All-in Diversity project is an initiative that will be at the forefront and not on the periphery of industry attention.
