Casinos Poland cut the ribbon on its latest gaming facility in Warsaw last week, and according to the company’s co-CEO, Peter Hoetzinger, initial feedback from guests has been “very positive”.

The operator, which is majority-owned by Nasdaq-listed Century Casinos, opened the new Casinos Poland venue at the Hilton Hotel in Warsaw on June 9.

More than 1,000 guests were welcomed to explore the new casino, which has the largest gaming floor in the country. It is the company’s second gaming venue in the Polish capital, complementing the existing facility at the nearby Marriott Hotel.

The Hilton location is already well established, as Casino Poland’s main competitor in the Warsaw market, Olympic Entertainment Group, used to operate its flagship casino there until its licence expired in late 2016.

Speaking with earlier this week, Peter Hoetzinger, co-CEO, president and vice chairman of Century Casinos, said: “We are excited about our new location in Poland’s main casino market, Warsaw, and we received very positive feedback from our guests at the new venue.

“With a ‘cosmopolitan-style’ interior, we are trying to attract both local and foreign visitors. We are offering the allowed maximum number of 70 slot machines and have compiled a mix of premium machines of all reputable manufacturers on the market. In addition, we are offering 24 classic table games like American roulette, black jack and poker.”

Casinos Poland now operates six casinos in cities across Poland, and was ranked first place for three more casino licences in the most recent licence tenders. It is expected that these three additional casino permits will be granted before the end of the year.

“Since we took over the majority shareholding in Casinos Poland in 2013, our Polish casinos showed a stable and strong growth performance,” Hoetzinger said.

“We believe our new casino has the potential to contribute significantly to Casinos Poland’s successful performance and provide a meaningful number of jobs for locals, as well as tax revenue for the state.”

Totally Gaming says: The opening of Casinos Poland’s latest gaming facility at the Hilton has cemented the company’s dominant position in Warsaw. In the first quarter of 2017, Century Casinos said revenues for its Polish subsidiary were up 19% to $14.5 million, and the new venue will no doubt stimulate further growth in the market during the second half of the year.
