Rank Group-owned Mecca Bingo has signed up the SG Gaming division of Scientific Games to provide a server-based gaming solution to the UK-based bingo operator in a five-year deal. The platform, which is powered by technology partner Videobet, has already been tested in a number of Mecca Bingo venues across the country and will be rolled out in the early part of this year. “The trials we jointly undertook demonstrated that the content provision, yield analytics and enhanced platform tools drive improvements in cash box revenue and customer participation,” Mecca Bingo's head of slots, Mohammed Zabed, said...

William Hill has blamed the introduction of Point of Consumption tax in the UK for its decision not to renew its sponsorship of the Lincoln Handicap, one of the most important horse racing events of the flat racing season. Spokeswoman Kate Miller confirmed that a three-year deal would not be renewed and added: “We had to review a number of our marketing investments on the back of Point of Consumption tax.” Miller added that Hills does not plan to terminate any of its other major sponsorship deals...
