NRM's R&D promise to boost new player intake for Bingo operators

NRM has run the technical operations of the National Bingo Game since 1997

NRM Managing Director Andrew Ludlow says that the company’s commitment to research and development (R&D) sits at the very heart of its bingo business.

The UK based software solutions provider, which managed the National Bingo Game for 18 years, recently confirmed a ‘triple lock’ on its R&D budget.

The policy commitment will see NRM invest a minimum 30% of revenue into the company's R&D function in each of the next three years.

Ludlow told "There’s no doubt that Bingo operators are faced with a number of challenges relating to admissions, spend per head and the squeeze on discretionary leisure spend.

“The broadly-based leisure sector is incredibly competitive, and it is incumbent on NRM, with its long-standing history in the industry, to support Bingo operators by delivering fresh new initiatives covering hardware, software and the development of compelling, fun to play content.

"Clearly this can only be achieved through ongoing investment in R&D and the marriage of technology and insight to help operators engage with their existing customers as well as attract new players to the business. Our R&D commitment means that we are channelling investment into commercial, high street and holiday park Bingo, as all three are key components of the Bingo landscape.”

Ludlow, the former Managing Director of Games Media and Barcrest, emphasised NRM’s ongoing commitment to the Bingo sector by confirming the acquisition Big Deal Games (BDG) from Timeplay.

He added: “This week’s purchase of BDG will accelerate our ability to grow our installed base of handheld tablets used in the commercial Bingo sector, as well as providing an excellent fit with our own Budde platform that we are installing with some of the UK’s leading operators.

"For NRM, R&D isn’t a function it’s a philosophy, a mind-set and most importantly a commitment which sits at the very heart of the business."

Totally Gaming says: NRM continues to be extremely active in the bingo, adult gaming centre and LBO sectors. News of this ‘triple lock’ promise and BDG acquisition, both indicative of the company’s commitment to innovation, comes hot on the heels of a deal to install its Numbers Betting Platform across more than 3,000 LBOs with Ladbrokes Coral.
