The two-day mini cruise sets sail from Hull on 2 February

Mecca Bingo has set about providing 18 to 35-year-olds with a “new reason to travel” after teaming up with P&O Ferries to launch the first Bonkers bingo-themed mini cruise.

The minicruise, which sets sail from Hull to Amsterdam on 2 February, will provide “wild entertainment” on both legs of the journey through Mecca’s Bonkers Bingo game.

The 21st century format encourages players to shout modern bingo calls such as Little Mix for number six and Netflix and Chill for the “naughty” number 69. There’s also a great selection of prizes up for grabs across the two-day break, from big cash prizes to celebrity cardboard cut outs.

Caroline Webb, spokesperson for Mecca Bingo, told TotallyGaming.com: “The Bonkers Bingo themed mini cruise aims to attract a different audience / customer and provide them with a new reason to travel. With this minicruise we see it predominantly attracting those aged 18-35.”

Having arrived in Amsterdam at 8am on 3 February, passengers will have 12 hours of fun in the city before setting sail once again and arriving back in the UK on 4 February.

“It really is Mecca ahoy for bingo fans as we work with P&O Cruises to launch this, the world’s first Bonkers bingo mini cruise,” added Webb. “We think taking the beloved game to the high seas is the perfect idea for those who are looking for one-of-a-kind entertainment while they sail to the fun packed city that is Amsterdam.”

Totally Gaming says: Mecca Bingo is trying something different by launching this bingo-themed mini cruise. It will be interesting to see how well this concept catches on, and particularly how much it resonates with Mecca’s target demographic.
