The charity has already raised £160,000 with help from Gala.

52 Lives, a charity dedicated to changing people’s lives by spreading kindness and generosity, is said to be “delighted” at renewing its partnership with GalaBingo.

The partnership, which began two years ago, has raised £160,000 through charity bingo games and player donations, with all profits going to the charity. The collaboration has been extended for a further two years.

“I am delighted to renew 52 Lives’ partnership with and continue spreading kindness in both big and small ways to the people that need it most right here in the UK,” 52 Lives Founder Jaime Thurston said of the renewal.

“We started 52 Lives because we believe that if we all come together, we can change lives and change the world. It has been great to see how the Gala community has got stuck into this challenge, while having some lighthearted fun playing bingo!”

Recent examples of 52 Lives’ work include raising £3000 for a homeless family to put a deposit on a flat, and providing a hot tub for a young boy with chronic Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy to have hydrotherapy at home. Now in its fifth year of operation, over 160 people have been helped by 52 Lives so far, and provides what has been described as “essential financial support”.

Commenting on the partnership, Karina Adrian, PR and Brand Partnership Manager at, said: “We first came across 52 Lives when founder Jaime Thurston appeared on ITV’s ‘Surprise Surprise’ and we immediately felt that 52 Lives’ strategy of people coming together to spread kindness and happiness was a perfect match for the ‘Play Happy’ mantra.

“Being part of a supportive community is a huge part of’s offering, and something our players really value. It‘s great that they can contribute towards this worthy cause simply by playing certain games.”

Totally Gaming says: The wider gambling industry has been struggling with its image of late, so it’s refreshing to see a large company like GalaBingo dedicating substantial effort and funds to a charitable cause. The partnership has been renewed for two years, but here’s hoping it carries on for longer.
