Valentine’s Day survey shows Bournemouth fans to be least romantic

The survey on 2,000 fans was commissioned by The Football Pools

A survey commissioned by The Football Pools has shown fans of AFC Bournemouth to be the least passionate, with not a single fan choosing a romantic Valentine’s Day evening over the football.

Of the 2,000 fans that were asked, 10% will be heading to a match, on a night featuring UEFA Champions League matches and a full fixture list in the Football League. Meanwhile, Stoke City fans were revealed to be the most romantic in the Premier League, with 55% choosing to spend Valentine’s Day with their partner, and 81% willing to stop supporting the club for their other half.

Conleth Byrne, MD of The Football Pools, told “The Football Pools has been at the heart of the game for over 90 years and we know that the fans view is the most important in football. Our survey really shows how much passion they have for the game we all love.”

The survey comes at a time where the pool betting company is promoting the chance to win up to £3 million from just £1. The Football Pools has also marked its launch in over 900 WHSmith stores by giving in-store customers the opportunity to bag themselves a brand-new iPad Mini 4.

Byrne added: “The Football Pools may give everybody the chance to win big for just £1, but clearly not many fans from Bournemouth will be talking their loved ones out for a special treat with their winnings!”

Totally Gaming says: The findings from the survey show that most football fans aren’t willing to skip tonight’s action for a romantic evening. In fact, only 21% want to spend the night with their partner. However, there is some consolation for partners of football lovers; most fans would choose their partner over their club if it meant losing them forever, while 59% would choose to switch allegiances to their arch rival rather than leave their partner.
