RBP to partner European esports betting venture

Unikrn is to serve regulated European betting markets after the Malta Gaming Authority (MGA) approved a licence.

The esports sportsbook is now to jointly launch Unikrn EU alongside French online gaming firm RBP, as it seeks to become the premier esports betting platform among European consumers.

Rahul Sood, CEO of Unikrn, told TotallyGaming.com: “Our Malta License and partnership with RBP will play a significant impact on Unikrn's business. We are operational with real money betting in a handful of markets at the moment, Australia, the UK, Ireland.

“Malta opens up potential expansion across 80% of Europe, and we already have investments in Europe. We're super excited to get this moving as soon as possible.

“We can offer Fiat [real money] betting very soon. We are now working with the Malta Gaming Authority on enabling regulated cryptocurrency betting in 2018.

“Unikrn is the first company to build a grounds up token selling engine that's designed specifically for a highly regulated industry like ours. The MGA is very forward thinking so we're optimistic we can help move things along fairly quickly.”

This announcement follows the UnikoinGold token sale that has raised in excess of $30m in over 112 countries, and will eventually follow the path across to Europe in addition to a number of innovations set to impact the way in which fans engage with esports.

Notable high profile investors in the UnikoinGold token include Mark Cuban, CoinCircle, Blockchain Capital, Pantera Capital, Brock Pierce and Draper Dragon.

Totally Gaming says: Unikrn have a strong partner in RBP, who have 300,000 registered customers and receive over one million unique visitors per month. It may have been a long arduous process, but through the MGA licence a fresh large expansion can now be targeted with regulated safe esports betting.
