The big industry news of the week was the sudden departure of James Henderson from William Hill after just under two years as the CEO there.

William Hill communications director Ciaran O'Brien wished him well: "James Henderson joined @WillHillBet shop in '85 & rose to CEO. A smashing bloke he did a hell of a lot in 31 yrs & we wish him very best"

Meanwhile Fintan Costello at Revenue Engineers took a totally different view of Henderson's departure.

He tweeted: "Based on the WillHill news today, if I could buy shares I'd very very long SkyBet right now"

After a series of governmental departures in the UK, the country now has its second female Prime Minister in the shape of Theresa May. Her early performance in the role has impressed Sarah McChesney at Fresh8 Gaming.

She wrote: "Teresa May clearly means business at her first #PMQs, eloquent, quick witted & firm responses. #Corbyn needs to up his game!"

Meanwhile Gary Folis, Director of Communications and Government Relationsa the Association of British Bookmakers, was pleased that the new PM hadn't moved Minister for Gambling Tracey Crouch to another department.

He said: "Lovely to see Sports Minister @tracey_crouch with Malcolm George, CEO @BritBookmakers endorse Gamble Aware Week"

Meanwhile at the other end of the Thames, Ladbrokes was enjoying its annual boat party.

Alex Donohue wrote: "No complaints about view from the top deck of the #ladbrokesboatparty tonight"

Despite strong ties to the casino industry, it seems that gaming analyst Vaughan Lewis doesn't appear to be too happy at the thought of him becoming Commander-on-Chief.

He tweeted: "Trump is going to be the president isn't he. What a time to be alive."

Meanwhile Openbet are using the PokemonGo phenomenon as a recruitment tool.

The company tweeted: "Urgently need SoftwareEngineers to help defend The Waterfall Gym http://bit.ly/1FRxGRN Benefits include Pension & 6 #PokeStops on the park"
