The campaign to introduce regulated sports betting across the US has gained another high-profile supporter in the form of David Stern, the former commissioner of the NBA basketball league. Stern, who stepped down as commissioner to be replaced by Adam Silver nearly a year ago, told CNBC that he supported his successor’s recent calls for federal regulation of the industry. “Bring the sports leagues in. If it’s going to happen... you should make it legal and you should regulate it as tightly as you possibly can,” Stern said...

PokerStars has scrapped a planned increase in the rake – its commission for hosting games – across the majority of its services. The online poker service increased rake levels on November 3 and had planned further increases this year.
