PokerStars operator's sportsbook brand the latest to launch online in the state

The Stars Group has become the latest operator to move online in New Jersey's rapidly-expanding sports betting market.

The company has launched its BetStars brand for mobile devices in the state, complementing its existing PokerStarsNJ and PokerStarsCasinoNJ products.

"We are excited to introduce BetStars to New Jersey sports fans," said The Stars Group’s senior vice president of US strategy and operations Matt Primeaux. "As one of the largest online gaming companies in the world with millions of customers worldwide, we have successfully launched BetStars in regulated markets across Europe and look forward to expanding and enhancing our New Jersey BetStars offering, including through leveraging the Sky Betting & Gaming acquisition following approval from the UK Competition and Markets Authority, to provide a premier product and experience to our customers in this new and developing market.”

The mobile sportsbook is hosted on the operator’s proprietary platform and uses its player account management solution, allowing customers to access casino, poker and sports betting products from a single account and wallet.

It offers in-play betting, early cash-out options, as well as enhanced bonuses, for games such as professional and collegiate football, basketball, baseball, golf and hockey.

The Stars Group is looking to promote the launch with a series of promotions designed to attract new customers, including a sign-up bonus and odds boosts for new bettors.

It joins an increasingly busy online market, which kicked off when DraftKings’ Kambi-powered offering went live on August 1st. That was followed by MGM’s playMGM sportsbook app and the SugarHouse Sportsbook on August 22nd and 23rd respectively, with FanDuel and William Hill going live right at the end of the month.

Caesars followed on September 6th, with 888 launching its own Kambi-powered solution on September 10th.
