The operator will provide NFL play-by-play and game statistics

Sportradar has strengthened its business through a data partnership with the NHL ice hockey league and the expansion of football competitions available via Betradar’s live streaming service.

The sports and betting services company has struck a multi-year deal to become the exclusive third-party provider of real-time game data for the NHL.

Under the agreement, Sportradar will provide play-by-play and game statistics via the NHL’s Hockey Information Tracking System (HITS) to media and technology companies around the world.

“This partnership with Sportradar advances our commitment to statistics as a storytelling too,” said Stephen McArdle, NHL executive vice-president of digital media and strategic planning. “We recognise that innovative technology helps bring game statistics to life and showcases the extraordinary talent in the NHL.”

Meanwhile, Sportradar said it would now offer clients a more complete streaming schedule following its acquisition of new media rights for a number of club competitions in three European countries.

Subsidiary Betradar, whose clients include Bet365, William Hill and Interwetten, will now offer matches from the Greek Super League, Romania’s Liga 1 and Cupa Ligii, and Türkiye Kupas, Turkey’s national knockout cup competition, through its Live Channel service.

Jörn Anhalt, managing director media rights at Sportradar, said: “With our live channels online and retail, we are providing dedicated live streaming solutions to the betting industry. The latest extensions to our portfolio are again truly betting relevant focusing on off-peak slots in the daily schedule of the bookmaker’s offering.

“The pool of events we are now offering to our clients are spread strategically across all hours and days throughout the year to unlock new turnover potential and entertainment solutions for bookmakers.”
