Ladbrokes and Coral will be the first to benefit from the expansion

SIS (Sports Information Services) has expanded its greyhound racing content with the addition of a further 2,800 races a year.

Ladbrokes and Coral will be among the first operators to utilise the more extensive service that will see its schedule increase from 43 to 48 fixtures per week. The new SIS Greyhound schedule and race times are available on the SIS website.

The SIS Greyhound Service, which 99% of the UK retail market and 100% of the Spanish retail market subscribe to, currently offers six meetings every day from Monday to Saturday, with three meetings included on Sunday.

Paul Witten, Product Director at SIS emphasised the value of greyhound racing as a betting product when he told “Greyhound racing provides the ultimate short-form, quick-fire betting opportunities. These additional 2,808 races will slot into the daily schedules of both Ladbrokes and Coral, offering their customers a greater number of fixtures to bet on at key times in the afternoon and evening.

“With races now taking place roughly every eight minutes, the operators’ customers now have an expanded schedule of events, providing more betting opportunities.”

Looking ahead, he added: “Greyhound racing provides an opportunity for operators to drive revenues, given that it’s a proven product with consistent betting margins which will help drive profit margins.

“The expansion of the SIS Greyhound Service, which now offers coverage of over 30,000 races per year, ensures that there are plenty of opportunities for bettors to bet on. With most events taking place at convenient times for European bettors in the afternoon and evening, it’s sure to help drive dwell time in-shop and online, and increase betting turnover for operators.”

The market-leading greyhound service will now be boosted to seven meetings a day from Monday to Saturday and six meetings on Sunday with the addition of two more British fixtures each week from Henlow and Central Park, with three more Irish fixtures from Youghal, Limerick and Curraheen Park.

The SIS Greyhound Service was launched on 1st January this year and provides the most comprehensive British and Irish greyhound schedule each week. In total the extended SIS Greyhound Service will provide operators with over 30,000 greyhound races per year with the majority taking place in the afternoon and evenings when European bettors are looking to bet.

Totally Gaming says: The expansion of the SIS’ greyhound coverage is something that can benefit operators immensely, especially given that they will be looking to provide a greater depth of betting opportunities for punters after FOBT regulations.
