UK bookmaker to be complimented by Watch and Bet greyhound service

William Hill is set to be the first UK operator to take Sports Information Services’ (SIS) new greyhound service in a Watch & Bet format for online.

The supplier of products and services to the retail and online betting markets, has detailed that live greyhound pictures have been incorporated into the UK operator’s free-to-view Betting TV streaming service.

Made available to customers from this month, the SIS online greyhound service is designed to compliment its existing betting shop offering.

Paul Witten, product director at SIS, told “ This is the first time that a UK major operator has taken our Greyhound Service in a Watch & Bet format. William Hill have incorporated our content into their free-to-view ‘Betting TV’ streaming service, and this is a prelude to the launch of the SIS Greyhound Channel in March, which will also be a Watch & Bet format.

“In 2017 we invested a lot of time and effort in improving our greyhound service in order to provide William Hill and other operators with a top quality service which will help drive revenues and profitability.

“We have worked closely with the tracks to help drive improvements, for example rolling out additional camera angles in our tracks, to optimise the viewing experience for bettors, and the increased investment has helped with improvements in the track surfaces and infrastructure of the live greyhound experience.

Witten added: “Our new greyhound service will significantly enhance the online racing experience for William Hill’s customers as part of their free-to-view ‘Betting TV’ service, in particular the quality of the live pictures, with the broadcast from some of our tracks including three camera angles vs current live pictures which feature one camera angle.

“This will greatly improve the viewer’s experience. This complements the operator’s exiting retail offering, which already includes SIS’s British & Irish greyhound racing.”

Totally Gaming says: This deal marks the first time a UK bookmaker has been able to show greyhound racing on a watch and bet basis. This will surely bring the betting shop experience closer to online clients, benefitting its omni channel presence, and bringing greyhound racing to a whole new audience.
