Team to be led by former William Hill and Superbet exec Stuart Weston

Scientific Games is looking to enhance its sports betting offering with the creation of a dedicated sportsbook operations team in Gibraltar.

The new team will look to help the gaming supply giant’s customers grow their sportsbook businesses by offering a managed service to clients. This will leverage SG Digital’s sports betting technology to power online, retail and mobile sportsbooks for its partners.

"Given the massive opportunity in the U.S. and the continued success of existing markets, the addition of sportsbook operations is a natural step up for our business,” SG Digital senior vice president of sportsbook Keith O’Loughlin said. “The team will work directly with our partners to operate and run their sportsbooks, ramping up the value of sports betting for everyone involved.

“It's a new ball game, and our partners have asked to tap into our vast knowledge to help with day-to-day sportsbook operations. Now, we're completely equipped to offer that capability and support customers in growing their business like never before.”

The new team will be led by Stuart Weston, who has been appointed vice president of sportsbook operations at SG Digital. Weston most recently worked as managing director of the iGaming arm of Romanian operator Superbet, and has also served as sportsbook product director during two decades in the industry.

Scientific Games noted that the establishment of the new team reflected its commitment to growing its sports betting offering, as well as its commitment to Gibraltar as an iGaming hub
