Monday, March 30, 2015 Totally Gaming

Steve Rogers, senior vice-president of virtuals at Inspired Gaming, tells TotallyGaming.com about the company’s plans to expand its Simulated Gaming operation into new markets and regions around the world.

TotallyGaming.com: How would you describe the current demand for virtual sports on a global scale?

Steve Rogers: “Inspired is experiencing huge demand for its Virtual Sports proposition, especially following the recent launch of its hotly anticipated Virtual ‘Rush Football 2’ which boasts lifelike Ultra HD graphics and over 30 bet markets – resulting in a more exciting and premium player experience.

“Inspired’s created the Virtual Sports market segment and has established the leading market position in land-based, online and mobile channels across Europe. Virtuals are also incredibly attractive to new markets because they are proven to drive structured, incremental revenue for operators.”

TotallyGaming.com: Are there any markets in particular that you have identified where demand is higher than the average?

SR: “There are clear growth opportunities for Inspired in Asian markets. Inspired is actively working alongside countrywide regulators and local partners to expedite the implementation of new regulations and gaming services, enabling the operation of Virtual Sports across many different product segments.

“Currently, Inspired's Virtual Sports rapid-draw lottery products are supplied to the National Sports Lottery (NSLAC) in China. Inspired’s Virtual Motor Racing game ‘Lucky Racing’ has been live in over 2,000 lottery-betting shops in the Hunan Province since 2011 and is the best performing lottery product in Hunan. Inspired’s Virtual Football game, known locally as “e-Ball”, is now live in over 3,000 venues in Jiangsu Province – the largest sports lottery Province in China.”

TotallyGaming.com: You have recently launched your services in Georgia. Do you have plans to launch in other new markets?

SR: “Yes, earlier this month Inspired announced that it Virtual Sports were live in Georgia on Adjarabet’s website – the first time that Virtuals have been available in the country. We usually launch in several new markets per year, with this year being our most ambitious to-date.

“In 2015, Inspired will be focusing on its Virtuals expansion in Asia-Pacific, as well as Latin America. In 2014 Inspired signed deals in the Philippines and in Colombia, so this year will see Inspired launching these products for the first time in these territories.”

TotallyGaming.com: How much scope for growth do you think virtual sports has moving forward?

SR: “The beauty of Virtual Sports is that they drive incremental growth. Virtual Sports generate around 20 to 25 per cent of incremental revenue for a race and sportsbook operator.

“It’s a growing segment that is evolving with player preferences and demand. There are close ties to the growth in mobile and in-play betting, as the player demographic is very similar.”

TotallyGaming.com: Is there anything else you would like to add about virtual sports or Inspired Gaming’s activities in this expanding sector?

SR: “Since Inspired created the Virtual Sports product segment and launched in the UK in 2001, Virtual Sports have become a proven category of sports wagering, enjoyed by millions of players across the globe. As the market leader, Inspired offers the best content to more venues, driving more revenue for operator partners.

“Inspired is the world’s leading provider of Virtual Sports – it provides its events to land-based, online and mobile operators across 50,000 venues and 300 web and mobile sites, in 35 countries – generating over $10bn of revenue per year.

“By investing heavily in product innovation and having the best graphics in the market, Inspired is able to stay ahead of the competition – also by continually innovating it ensures that its customers are getting the best products on the market today and for the foreseeable future.”
