Kambi Head of Content Gerard Starkey has said a third Kambi-powered sportsbook in New Jersey is “on the way” after the PlaySugarHouse Sportsbook went live in the Garden State.

Commenting on Twitter, Starkey said the launch of the SugarHouse Sportsbook, which is operated by Rush Street Interactive, meant Kambi now had two of the three customers live in the burgeoning market, and described the feat as a “great achievement”.

The announcement comes just three weeks after Kambi made history by facilitating the first online wager in the post-PASPA US market through DraftKings.

This breakthrough came after Kambi and DraftKings, along with DraftKings’ land-based licensing partner Resorts Casino, were approved for an online sports betting Transactional Waiver from the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement (DGE).

The subsequent launch of PlaySugarHouse SportsBook, pushed through just in time for last night’s NFL warm up between Philadelphia Eagles and Cleveland Browns, means that Kambi has been through the DGE process twice in just three weeks.

As well as providing a wide range of markets and cash out functionality on open bets, PlaySugarHouse has deliberately simplified the presentation of odds for its new audience.

Customers will be offered three different display options - American odds for those familiar with Vegas-style betting, fractional odds for those familiar with horse race betting or decimal odds that are easy to understand for new players to sports betting.

Totally Gaming says: Alongside DraftKings and PlaySugarHouse, the other live online sportsbook in NJ at this stage is playMGM, launched yesterday as part of a 50/50 joint venture between GVC and MGM Resorts. An update on this third Kambi-powered sportsbook is expected in the next few weeks, but it is likely to be Kindred or 888, with both operators having already declared their interest in the market.
