1,300,000 - The prize pool in US dollars that EA Sports has announced for the new Ultimate Team Championship Series in next month’s FIFA 17. This revelation made made at Gamescon in Germany this week, whilst a new trailer featuring a closer look at the new Frostbite game engine was also released.

EA’s Competitive Gaming Division Chief Peter Moore said: “The popularity of Ultimate Team, combined with the global nature of the most popular sports franchise on the planet, makes FIFA 17 a very exciting title for a season of competitive gaming like the one we are announcing today.

555,000,000 - Crown Resorts has reported its net profits are up 14% to the tune of £555m. Crown Chief Executive Rowen Craigie said: “The 2016 full-year result reflects a solid performance from our Australian operations and continued subdued trading in Macau.”

0 - Chinese sports lottery operator has reported its sixth straight quarter with zero corporate revenues from the lottery product. The company floated on the New York Stock Exchange in October 2015, but has had numerous problems since doing so. CEO Zhengming Pan stated: “We voluntarily and temporarily suspended our online lottery sales operations in response to the promulgation of the Self-Inspection Notice. Such temporary and voluntary suspension materially and adversely impacted our financial and operational results for the second quarter of 2016.”

199 - The amount in pence that William Hill shareholders were offered per share, in addition to 0.860 BidCo shares, in Rank and 888’s revised bid for William Hill. This second bid was once again dismissed by Will Hill before the ink was dry.

William Hill Chairman Gareth Davis said of the new offer: “This revised proposal continues to substantially undervalue the company and the cash element of the proposal has not changed. Therefore, the board sees no merit in engaging. As we have said before, this is highly opportunistic and complex and does not enhance the strategic positioning of William Hill.”
