Supplier will aim to take advantage of opportunities as states regulate sports betting

Sports betting platform and data services provider Metric Gaming has completed a $10m Series A funding round, and will now look to seal new client deals in the US sports betting market.

The funding round was led by RDA Ventures, with additional funds coming from Metric’s existing investors. As a result of its investment, RDA will gain a seat on the supplier’s board of directors.

Metric founder and chief executive Martin de Knijff said the money would be used to accelerate the company’s plans to capitalise on “substantial market opportunities” that arise from US states regulating sports betting.

“Metric's B2B value proposition – a turnkey, mobile-optimized solution that includes the transaction platform, front-end, trading, operations, risk management, product and unique content – is backed by pedigree and expertise built on both sides of the Atlantic, and will enable operators to quickly and efficiently capture market share,” de Knijff explained.

RDA president David Broser said the combination of Metric’s product suite, services and management made the decision to invest easy.

“Metric is uniquely positioned as a sports betting B2B provider with advanced expertise that's rare in the US, and we're excited to be on the ground floor with such a compelling player in the nascent legalized US market,” he said.
