European betting site LVbet has signed a sponsorship deal with German ice hockey team Kölner Haie

European betting site LVbet has signed a sponsorship deal with German ice hockey team Kölner Haie from the Deutsche Eishockey Liga.

Kölner Haie is a popular team in Germany and beyond, and regularly sells out its playing arena. LVbet is aiming to join the ‘colossal sporting family’ and connect with the fanbase.

LVbet is already well known as it shares its branding with the popular European energy drink LV – which means it can trade on a high-octane perception.

Jerome Lefebre, Country Manager DACH at and responsible for the development of this partnership, told “LVbet is young, innovative and full of energy… Therefore we choose Kölner Haie for a partnership. This legendary team connects generations of ice hockey lovers and is one of the big players in Europe when it comes up to this powerful contact sport.”

LVbet visited the Kölner Haie fans at the Sommerfest 2016, a big summer party at the Chocolate museum in Cologne that celebrates the opening of the ice-hockey season and had over 5,000 fans in attendance. The bands Kasalla, Kuhl un the Gäng, Björn Heuser, and The Atrium rocked the stage before the team came on stage to massive cheers. LVbet had the opportunity to meet many Sharks fans, introducing them to the site’s features as well as some upcoming Kölner Haie related promotions.

As its first big celebration of this sponsorship, LVbet is organising the Bissfest Gewinnspiel tournament. The tournament, which is only open to registered players on, gives Kölner Haie fans the chance to win prizes including Season Tickets, signed Hockey Shirts, and other official merchandise. The tournament will coincide with the real Deutsche Eishockey Liga season 2016/2017 and winners will be announced during a live draw held at the Lanxess Arena during the last home game of the season.

Lefebre explained: “The Bissfest tournament runs over the whole season where players will get one ticket in the raffle for each 10 euro deposit. The final raffle will be held live on the end of season party. Also we will have tournaments on each home game of Kölner Haie where our depositing Haie Fans can also win Tickets, Goodie Bags and lots of Free Spins.
