SG Digital passed testing set by the Mississippi Gaming Commission

SG Digital, the new digital division of Scientific Games, has passed compliance testing set by the Mississippi Gaming Commission as it presses ahead with plans for its stateside partners.

The sportsbook retail platform from OpenBet, which came to the SG Digital stable through the acquisition of NYX Gaming Group, has been assessed against guidance on standards and integrity set by Gaming Labs International (GLI).

The platform fulfilled all requirements of the GLI-33 draft compliance standard, and met proposed sports and race pool regulation set by the state’s Gaming Commission, as Mississippi seeks to become the first southern state to bring sports betting services to its licensed casino premises.

Ian Hughes, vice president of global services at GLI, said: “Evaluation against draft GLI-33 demonstrates that the software and systems conform to a broad set of well-recognised and accepted requirements for compliance suitability in a variety of markets.

“The evaluation of the SG Digital OpenBet platform against GLI-33 by GLI provides SG Digital, regulators and its customers independent evaluation to its suitability.”

Keith O’Loughlin, senior vice president of sportsbook at SG Digital, added: “As legalised sports betting spreads across the states, we’re taking every step to provide a seamless transition for our partners.”

“Speed is of the essence,” concluded O’Loughlin. “This pre-compliance review positions us as a partner of choice for operators seeking industry-leading turnkey sportsbook solutions across land-based, online and mobile channels.”

Totally Gaming says: Having already initiated a review of its sportsbook products with the Division of Gaming Enforcement (DGE) in New Jersey, the gaming giant continues to make a statement of intent in America’s fledgling post-PASPA market. Just three weeks after GLI unveiled its draft standard, SG Digital has used this to prove the legitimacy of its retail-point-of-sale terminal and administrative back-end systems.
