Wilander will serve up engaging and educational content for Pinnacle

At the start of its 20th year of operations, online bookmaker Pinnacle has reached a new milestone with the announcement of former world no.1 tennis star Mats Wilander as its first ever brand ambassador.

Wilander, who enjoyed an illustrious 16-year career as a professional, will now produce educational content for Pinnacle’s Betting Resources portal, providing readers with unique insight into the game.

Jesse Learmonth, director of product management, told TotallyGaming.com: “We’ve had ample opportunity to sign a brand ambassador in the past but it never felt like the right move. We chose to form the partnership with Mats because he encapsulates what Pinnacle is about and there’s no doubt he’ll add value to our customers’ experience.

“Mats’ professional profile and personality is very much in-line with Pinnacle’s approach to bookmaking – leading with integrity and always striving to be the best. While it was important to have the right person represent our brand, we also wanted someone with his experience and expert knowledge that will add another element to the educational content within Betting Resources.”

Commenting on Pinnacle’s new promotion, The €8,000 Slam, Learmonth added: “Announcing our first ever brand ambassador was such a big thing for us that we decided to celebrate in style. What better way than giving our customers the chance to win €8,000?

“Instead of offering up the free bets or 'odds boost' that the majority of bookmakers would turn to, we wanted to come up with something a bit more unique that would reward customers who take a competition as seriously as their betting.

“The competition itself was pretty simple - just predict the winner of the Men’s and Women’s 2018 Australian Open singles tournament to be in with a chance of winning. Why €8,000? We threw in €1,000 for every Grand Slam title Mats won during his career.”

Looking ahead to what will be ‘a big year for Pinnacle’, Learmonth continued: “In addition to all the excitement surrounding marquee events like the Winter Olympics and World Cup, 2018 also marks our 20th anniversary. We’ve been working away on our plans for some time now so it will be nice to put those plans into action and see the fruits of our labour.
