Delaware North partners Miomni for new sports betting solution

Miomni to power sports betting at operator's properties as well as collaborating on development of B2B solution

Land-based casino operator Delaware North has partnered sportsbook technology provider Miomni Gaming to launch legal wagering across its property portfolio. 

Miomni, which provides its sports wagering technology to more than 50 casinos in Nevada, is to provide the operator with turnkey retail and mobile sports betting services. It will also work with Delaware North to create an exclusive technology platform to be rolled out in states where wagering is or becomes legal. This will be offered as a B2B product for other casino operators. 

The partnership will initially focus on launching sports betting in West Virginia, where Delaware North operates the Wheeling Island Hotel-Casino-Racetrack and Mardi Gras Casino & Resort. Delaware North also owns properties in Arkansas, Arizona, Illinois, New York and Ohio. 

"In working with Miomni, a recognized expert firm on the technology side, Delaware North is uniquely positioned to become a leader in the emerging sports wagering sector in the United States," Delaware North president of gaming Brian Hansberry said.

”We are a hospitality business with operations in nearly 40 states,” Hansberry continued. “We have extensive regulated gaming expertise and experience, both through our own holdings and as a business-to-business services provider for our partners. Leaders in West Virginia were proactive in positioning the state for sports wagering, so Delaware North, with two casinos in West Virginia, is now very much part of a first wave of operators. We think that this unique positioning – combined with our professional sports relationships, our ownership and operation of TD Garden in Boston, and our significant hotel and restaurant holdings –will entice other casino companies to want to explore the opportunities this partnership can present them.”

The partnership further expands Delaware North’s B2B operations, with the company already providing a B2B social casino product to US casinos, following its acquisition of Ruby Seven Studios in 2016.
