Extra 250 terminals to take total to over 3,000

Playtech BGT Sports (PBS) has been commissioned by Betfred to enhance its supply of self service betting terminals (SSBTs) to its over 1,700 strong retail estate.

The addition of 250 extra widescreen terminals takes its total supplement to in excess of 3,000, and is a necessity to supply the growing consumer demand for self-service products in-store.

John Pettit, managing director for the UK, Ireland, Asia, and Australia at Playtech BGT Sports, explained to “We’re always looking for ways to improve and enhance the high street betting experience and that is exactly what we have done with SSBTs.

“We’re constantly improving and adding products designed to appeal to Betfred’s customers and this ensures their popularity continues to grow.

“Many Betfred shops now have multiple SSBTs, all of which feature cutting-edge graphics, a wide range of markets and a nice simple-to-use layout as we look to digitalise the retail space.”

The latest installment of SBBTs is to be delivered and installed in time for the new Premier League season, which begins on Saturday August 11, which was of the utmost importance as Petit adds: “Football is without doubt the most popular sportsbook market for players and its popularity continues to grow. Customers love the wide range of markets from events taking place all over the world, and products such as MatchAcca ensure there is something to suit every players preference.

“The increase in the number of terminals in the Betfred estate for the start of the football season is testimony to the demand that exists for this product in shops, and an exciting World Cup will see that popularity grow further – especially if England win.”

Totally Gaming says: The relationship between PBS and Betfred, in relation to this supply of SBBTs to its over 3,000 strong retail shop presence, seems to be blossoming. The World Cup is quite rightly a huge event for the industry, and the excitement could very well roll into the 2018/19 football season, particularly with the Premier League getting underway less than a month after new World Champions will be crowned in Russia.
