GamingMalta looks to strengthen the island’s ecosystem

Tuesday, February 6, 2018

Christian Sammut, Chairman, GamingMalta, reflects on a “very busy year” for the organisation and looks ahead to the future.

He said: “We have been working with local operators [to strengthen] the ecosystem that we have on the island.

“We’ve also been working on new areas such as Daily Fantasy Sports, esports and other sectors.”

He added: “Malta has become the success it is today not only from its reputation as a reputable licensing jurisdiction but also as a location where operators can easily collaborate together and find the right resources. And we work very closely with [businesses] to make sure their stay is a good one.”

What’s next?

Looking ahead, Sammut said GamingMalta’s focus will be on working with operators to help them continue to thrive, as well as with authorities to attract new operators to the island.

“Most important for 2018,” he said” is “looking at new sectors such as video gaming and trying to create new linkages with emerging sectors which are developing in the iGaming industry.
