Fredrik Elmqvist, CEO, on why Yggdrasil wants to take players to hell and back

Earlier this week Yggdrasil was named the Innovator Supplier Award at the International Gaming Awards. We asked Fred Elmqvist, the company’s CEO, about what makes Yggdrasil so innovative.

“It’s the people,” he said. “Also, we have good proximity to our customers. We see what they’re lacking, and they tell us. We want to keep the player coming back so we have longevity in the industry.”

New verticals

Yggdrasil recently expanded into table games and bingo.

“We’re growing into more verticals,” Elmqvist said. “Bingo is going to be released in the second quarter. We’re very excited about that. It was about time that someone did something cool about that. Same with table games. We are very dedicated to that new vertical.”

Here at ICE, Yggdrasil’s is promoting Vikings Go To Hell, the third and final ‘episode’ in its Vikings trilogy, following Vikings Go Wild and Vikings Go Bezerk.

Vikings Go To Hell

“We want to take customers to hell and back this year,” Elmqvist said. “Vikings Go To Hell is an epic battle where the Vikings face the demons and rescue the world.”

You can check out the game here at ICE on Yggdrasil’s stand and even turn yourself into a Viking with the booth’s magic mirror feature.
