NMi provides compliance testing in Czech Republic

Following the signing of a new bill to amend the Czech Republic’s gambling legislation, NMi has been accredited to test and certify online and land-based gaming machines destined for the market.

Since the 1990s, gambling in the Czech Republic was limited to lotteries. However, following on from the bill to amend the Czech Republic’s gambling legislation by the Ministry of Finance in June 2016, NMi is now accredited to test and certify online and land-based gaming machines in the region.

As operators look into opportunities in the country, the global compliance testing and auditing laboratory has partnered with All-in Translations to offer an English translation of the technical standards, which came into effect on January 1, 2017, along with a full localisation service.

“The Ministry of Finance for the Czech Republic recently implemented legalisation permitting regulated online gaming within the country,” Roy Pedersen, CEO of All-In Translations, told TotallyGaming.com.

“This legislation enables interested parties to move into the marketplace with the support of a trusted and experienced test lab that fully understands the regulatory framework in this new and exciting market.

“NMi has worked alongside All-In Translations to produce an unofficial translated version of the technical standards document for their customers.”

Totally Gaming says: NMi’s accreditation to test and certify online and land-based gaming machines in the Czech Republic further advances the gaming laboratory’s coverage in eastern Europe. The translation of the country’s gaming technical standards can be accessed here, and those in search of more information can visit NMi and All-In Translations at this year’s Prague Gaming Summit.
