Director of industry relations says 'we should continue to follow the path we are on'

David Orrick, the director of industry relations at Merkur Gaming, has dedicated the ‘Golden Dice Award’ he received this month to the rest of the team at the gaming giant.

The Golden Dice Award is decided by trade magazines ‘European Casinos – The Elite’ and ‘Casinos de Latinoamérica’ and awarded for a lifetime of achievement in the gaming industry.

Orrick commented: “It is a great honour to receive this award. For me and for the entire Merkur Gaming team, the ‘Golden Dice’ is an ultimate expression of appreciation and I receive it on behalf of the great team of professionals with whom I have the honour to work.

“This recognition is confirmation to me that we should continue to follow the path we are on and work constantly to further strengthen the company’s position and reputation.”

Orrick is a veteran of the entertainment industry with over 25 years of experience under his belt, with a professional network to match. For the past year, he has been director of industry relations at Merkur Gaming, the international sales brand of adp Gauselmann GmbH, where he joined from the NOVOMATIC Group, and he has been credited with improving the Merkur Gaming name and brand image.

His colleagues Athanasios ‘Sakis’ Isaakidis, chief executive, international, and Charles Hiten, chief executive of Merkur Gaming Americas, were keen to pay tribute: “David Orrick is one of the most networked people in our business and on both a professional and personal level is a true enrichment for the entire Gauselmann Group. He has more than earned the ‘Golden Dice’ in recognition of his life’s work.”

Totally Gaming says: David Orrick is very well known in the casino sector after almost a decade at the NOVOMATIC Group and before that as editor and journalist in the British gaming trade magazines that helped him cultivate a wide network of contacts. This award is recognition for the passion that he has shown for the industry in over that time.
