The operator has almost hit its £200,000 target

DFS operator Premier Punt is currently deep into a crowdfunding campaign on Seedrs and is set to meet its £200,000 target any day now.

At the time of writing the campaign was 99% complete, with the company offering 6.67% equity for the funding with a valuation of £2.8m. Premier Punt CEO John Gordon said of the campaign: “Crowdfunding has been a fantastic experience. It really fits into our company ethos: Made for the Fans, by the Fans. We are now letting the fans own it too. We feel that crowdfunding is a fantastic thing to do, and a successful round of public crowdfunding is another form of certification for the company.”

Premier Punt started out life back in 2013, but the playing field has proven volatile thus far and has changed considerably in the UK in the past year. Oulala and Mondogoal are now focused on strictly B2B activities whilst other companies have left the space entirely. This coupled with the DraftKings and FanDuel merger means that are isn’t actually that much competition in the space.

Gordon continued on this point: “So we find ourselves in a good position for 2017. We have the single game that FD and DK do not have, which is eloquently suited to our app, you can choose a line-up in seconds (as opposed to the FD and DK 11-a-side format).

“We will use the funds to move into overseas markets and make more proprietary gambling software. We are fortunate to have a digital marketing company invest in us so marketing is gratis for us!”

In late December Premier Punt, which is based in Aberdeen and took home the ‘Highly Commended’ award in the SBC Awards category of Best Fantasy Sports Product last year, announced that they were in the process of adding a sportsbook to their site and app which should go live in February.

Gordon closed with a ‘Watch this space’ statement as he revealed that they would be “introducing a real game-changer in January which will change the face of DFS forever”.

Totally Gaming says: Premier Punt has grown well since 2013 and its app continues to perform strongly in the download charts. Adding new features and modes for players, especially the opinion to easily place a bet, should keep up this momentum. As Gordon notes they have ambitions to move into new markets too following a highly successful crowdfunding campaign.
