The eight-time Olympic champion has become a brand ambassador

Usain Bolt, the fastest man on the planet, has promised to “have some fun” with his friend and fellow ambassador Kevin Hart after signing up to promote PokerStars.

The record-breaking 100m and 200m sprinter will promote the Amaya brand via live appearances, and by starring in marketing campaigns geared towards introducing new audiences to poker.

Exclusively for TotallyGaming.com, Bolt commented: “I am looking forward to some smart and fun campaigns with PokerStars, working with their Team Pro Ambassadors and comedian Kevin Hart, who has had a lot to say about the game. So, watch this space as I am sure he and I will have some fun along the way.”

Eric Hollreiser, vice president of corporate communications at PokerStars, added: “Usain Bolt is a fierce competitor who pushes his game to the limits. But he’s also one of the most-liked athletes in the world. His strong global following and winning personality will help us to introduce poker in a fun, social and fast way.”

Bolt, an eight-time Olympic gold medallist, announced his new partnership via a social media exchange with his friend and Hollywood star Hart, described by Hollreiser as a maverick, who was recruited by PokerStars at a recent event in Monaco to “make poker fun”.

Totally Gaming says: Having signed seven-time snooker world champion Stephen Hendry at the end of May, PokerStars has signed up another world sporting leader in Usain Bolt to help take its poker offering to new audiences. For Bolt, this is the latest in a long line of high-profile endorsements – he already works with the likes of Puma and Virgin Media.
