This week's industry news by the numbers

175,600,000 - Kindred made a sizable purchase this week in the form of a buyout of 32Red. This cost £175.6m, and sees the brand join the likes of Unibet, Stan James, Maria Casino and Bingo.com under the Kindred umbrella.

Henrik Tjärnström, CEO of Kindred Group,  said that this purchase is part of the company’s multi- brand strategy and commented: “32Red is a high quality, customer-focused business with a similar culture to Kindred’s and we are delighted to welcome 32Red and its team into the Kindred Group and look forward to further developing the brand going forward.”

10,000,000,000 - Should investor Sheldon Adleson get the go ahead for an ‘integrated resorts’ license by the Japanese government, then it’s been reported that he’s set to invest up to $10bn. Las Vegas Sands resort will have to have the licence confirmed first, and if this works out then it could reach this figure. This is what Adelson told attendees at a conference in Tokyo.

100,000 - ITV has launched a new racing app with William Hill sponsoring one of the most appealing components; a £100,000 predictor game; the ‘ITV7 Predictor Game’. Monterosa, a UK studio, developed the app and it’s another bid by ITV to derive the full value from its coverage of the racing and give consumers a fuller and broader experience.

6,100,000 - LeoVegas has entered the Italian market via Winga.  Winga.it enjoyed revenues of around €8m last year and has 33 employees at present. It offers a full-service online casino and  boasts further market presence with an interactive casino broadcast on Sky Italia. Gustaf Hagman, LeoVegas’ Group CEO said: “The acquisition of Winga.it will enable rapid expansion in Italy, as we are acquiring a company with local knowledge and an established position. LeoVegas’ expansion strategy is to grow in markets that are either regulated or in the process of being regulated.

100 - After being hit on an early payout only for The Donald to go on to win, Paddy Power has unleashed The Trump Hub. This is a focused portal of numerous, and increasingly ridiculous, bets relating to the President of the United States.

Paddy Power spokesperson Patrick ‘Paddy’ Power commented: “Our yuge collection of Trump bets totals more than 100 specials. Let’s face it, no matter how wacky some of them might seem, his first few weeks in charge have proven that anything is possible when it’s his stubby finger hovering over the red button.”

30,000 - If you were at ICE Totally Gaming this year, you’ll be well aware you weren’t the only one. This year saw 30,000 pass through the doors at the ExCeL Centre. This marked the sixth consecutive year of growth and it’s almost 6% up on last year and a considerable 42% up on the last time it was held at Earls Court.

More details will be released in late March as to the demographics of attendees.
