PokerStars is set to launch its new online sportsbook earlier than planned in Q1 of this year, parent company Amaya Gaming has confirmed. Californian Assemblyman Mike Gatto has unveiled the first draft of proposed amendments to his online poker bill for the US state. Under the proposed changes, the original requirement that new players must visit a land-based gambling facility to open an online account would become optional. Gatto is also considering inserting heavier sanctions against unauthorised online poker operators.
