Catena group revenues for H1 were up 78% from 2016

Industry marketing specialist Catena Media has claimed that it is on course to become the ‘outright leader’ in online gambling/betting player acquisition services.

Presenting its H1 2017 interim results (period ending 30 June), the company declared group revenues of €30 million, up 78% from the corresponding period in 2016, with a corporate growth aided by successful M&A and integration of new assets.

Catena also detailed an expansion of its affiliate network’s reach and coverage across key markets, boosting the company’s operating profit to €12 million (H1 2016: €8.25 million).

CEO Robert Andersson commented: “Catena Media continued its strong development in the second quarter of 2017. Through our scalable business model, we managed to gain revenues that amounted to EUR 15.10 million, corresponding to a year-on-year revenue-growth of 58 percent. Furthermore, adjusted EBITDA was at an all-time-high of EUR 7.95 million, corresponding to an adjusted EBITDA margin of 53 percent.

“Catena referred 91,222 NDCs to its clients in the second quarter, an increase of 92 percent year-on-year and an increase of 13 percent compared to the first quarter. The strong development of this key performance indicator is a reflection that the underlying business development continues to be strong and healthy.”

Within its forward-looking statement, Andersson also suggested that Catena was entering a ‘crucial’ H2 2017 trading period, in which the company would up its marketing spend and product delivery to boost its operations.

“We remain optimistic about our strategic, operational and financial development,” he added. “We are confident that the we will continue to grow in the same successful way, both through organic growth and through acquisitions across existing and new geographic markets.”

Totally Gaming says: Having executed an aggressive M&A strategy for its affiliate marketing expansion, Catena now holds a significant industry player acquisition foothold. In a consolidating affiliate marketing space, it will be hard to gamble against Catena Media.
