GBG's Peter Murray looks to future following Playtech deal

GBG is confident of attracting further interest from companies in the gaming sector that are looking for a single platform to run identity data intelligence applications after striking a significant deal with gaming software and services supplier Playtech.

GBG will offer a number of Playtech’s licensees instant, global ID verification through its IMS platform, without the need for further integration or technical infrastructure.

Playtech has more than 120 global licensees, including some of the world’s biggest gaming and betting brands.

With GBG’s ID verification tools integrated into Playtech’s core IMS player management platform, certain operators will now be able to carry out instant identity verification across more than 4.3 billion individuals worldwide.

“GBG already provides identity and verification services to the majority of the gaming sector,” GBG’s head of gaming, Peter Murray, told TotallyGaming.com.

“However, it was the ability to work with Playtech in order to provide a whole range of services across their clients’ customer journeys that was an important part of the conversations.

“We have seen interest already from several operators who increasingly want more of a single platform on which to run all their ‘identity data intelligence’ applications.

“Whilst strong and robust identity solutions served as the basis for the Playtech deal, it is the additional capabilities that I think interested both parties. From global addressing to behavioural analytics, the gaming landscape is changing and I think Playtech saw GBG as a key addition to their future service offering.”
