GSN Games plots further expansion after Idle Gaming takeover

GSN Games has outlined plans to expand the reach of its business on a global basis after the cross-platform entertainment provider completed the acquisition of social casino firm Idle Gaming.

Under the deal, the terms of which were not disclosed, GSN will benefit from Idle Gaming’s mobile platform technologies in addition to the company’s various expert staff. 

The deal will further strengthen GSN’s presence in the social gaming sector after the company also acquired Bash Gaming, the firm behind popular social bingo game ‘Bingo Bash’, just 12 months ago.

Speaking to TotallyGaming.com about the latest acquisition, Jessy Hanley, vice-president for marketing and customer experience at GSN, said that the company is keen to use the agreement to bolster its activities in various markets.

“The primary goals of the Idle acquisition are to acquire a first-rate team and leading edge technology,” Hanley told TotallyGaming.com.

“Hiring is a challenge all companies in our space, and we have been consistently impressed with the quality of the Idle team.

“The Idle team, ranging from art, design, development and production, has the same values of creativity and innovation that our organisation values so highly. The addition of this team will expedite new projects in development and benefit our overall service offering.

“In addition, the deal will enable us to add an innovative gaming platform to our portfolio. Idle’s gaming platform is something we plan to leverage across our current and future portfolio.”

Elaborating on GSN’s growth plans, Hanley said the company is constantly on the lookout for further expansion and will continue this approach to mergers and acquisitions this year.

“As always, we are looking to expand and grow our business,” Hanley said. “Historically, that has been through a combination of innovative products and marketing practices as well as M&A. 

“We plan on continuing this successful approach to growth this year and beyond.”
