Coingaming has continued its policy of hiring executives with a “track record of success within the gaming space” after announcing the appointment of former William Hill area operations manager Richard Walsh as its new managing director.

After more than 20 years with William Hill, Walsh has relocated to Coingaming HQ in Tallinn, Estonia. The announcement comes quickly after the Group appointed Extreme Live Gaming’s Dominic Bourke as director of casino and Christopher Uren, formerly of Sky Betting & Gaming and William Hill, as its director of sportsbook.

Reporting directly to CEO Tim Heath, Walsh will oversee operations for the entire group, which operates popular bitcoin betting brands BitCasino.io and Sportsbet.io alongside a soon-to-launch Esports-focused brand.

Tim Heath, CEO for The Coingaming Group, told TotallyGaming.com: “Our strategy is to fill senior management positions with innovative, forward-thinking and experienced executives with a track record of success within the gaming space, and that is exactly what we have done by bringing in Richard Walsh, Christopher Uren and Dominic Bourke over recent months.

“The Coingaming Group has grown very quickly in a short space of time, so drafting in experience from top tier operators enables us to manage this growth and ensure it continues.

“We will have some further news on the Esports brand shortly. Esports is an area where you need specialised knowledge to succeed, so we have assembled a team of experts that will work alongside our existing sportsbook team to create a product that we are confident will lead the market.”

Totally Gaming says: Richard Walsh couldn’t resist the “new challenge” at Coingaming after more than two decades in various senior management positions at William Hill. He has also expressed his excitement at joining a company embracing innovation with cryptocurrency and Esports betting.
