Scientific Games has moved to strengthen its service offering in the US by taking advantage of the country’s multi-state gaming capabilities to launch a new lottery game.

‘Monopoly Millionaires Club’ will initially go on sale in 23 participating states on October 19.

The game will be available in Arizona, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Maine, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas and Washington DC.

Subject to regulatory approval, the states of California, Idaho, Kansas, North Dakota, Ohio, Vermont, Virginia, West Virginia and Wisconsin will also offer the game after the initial launch date.

Adopting the theme of hugely popular Hasbro title ‘Monopoly’, the new premium multi-state lottery game will offer players three different ways to win $1m (€797,432).

The game, which will be complemented by a weekly one-hour prime time television programme, will boast a prize pool that begins with a $15m top prize and 10 smaller $1m club prizes.

If the top prize is not one in any given week, it will increase in value for the following three weeks until it reaches $25m.

Should the top prize not be won, the money will then be allocated to the smaller $1 million club prizes until someone wins the main top prize.

Speaking about the new game, Steve Saferin, president of Properties Group and chief creative officer for Scientific Games, said that the game has the potential to create more simultaneous millionaires than any other lottery game in history.

“Monopoly is one of the most successful brands in gaming with lottery, slots and sweepstakes,” Saferin said.
