We round up the best social media from the last seven days.

The gambling and iGaming industry can be a boisterous bunch at the best of times. There’s no place better to rant and ramble than in the realm of Twitter where every week a variety of topics tend to attract the attention of those in and around the industry.

It was a good week for the founder of Bodog casino, Calvin Ayre, who after more than five years had charges for illegal gambling and money laundering against him dropped. The news was of interest to Scottish newspaper, The Daily Record, as the Canadian entrepreneur is the owner of the aptly named Ayr United Football Club.

Horses grab the attention of betting experts for many reasons, but at Lingfield a certain horse peaked the interest of Betway’s Alan Alger, simply for the lackluster nature of its name. However, despite the uninspiring name, Travelcard managed to pull out a victory at Lingfield on Wednesday.

EsportsInsider gave us a peak into what appeared to be a fascinating speech from Wolfsburg’s official FIFA player Dave Bytheway. Bytheway was talking as part of a panel at the inaugural  ESIForum in London on Thursday evening. By all accounts the event was massive success.

The excitement of golf fans grew this week as The Open began, Coral were happy to reminisce about when Ian Poulter donned an Arsenal shirt for a round at Royal Birkdale.

It isn’t only golf fans who’ll be glued to the screens though, as reality TV fans will gripped by the final of Love Island and judging by the odds, the race to be crowned king and queen of the Island is hotting up.
