800,000 – The number of unique visitors from Kenya flocking to Web Analysis Solutions’ and platforms each week. As the company plans to roll out its latest betting solution, SportKenya, the company’s Mathew Symmonds said the time is right for online gaming to make its mark in Africa. Read more

12,000 – People employed by German gaming giant, Gauselmann Group. The company recently celebrated its 60th anniversary in a weekend-long event filled with food, music and festivities. During the celebrations, company founder Paul Gauselmann recalled his unique history with the company, which began its operations with 17 jukeboxes and now has annual revenues of €2.5 billion. 5,600 – The number of females employed by the UK casino industry. According to the National Casino Forum, 40% of the 14,000 staff directly employed by the country’s casinos – and around 30% of senior managers – are female, but there are very few women on company boards. The figures were released as the association unveiled a new initiative to encourage operators to bring more women into the boardroom. Read more

28 – Days’ notice given to Sky Betting & Gaming’s partners, after the British operator announced plans to close down its affiliate programme. Sky attributed the closure to regulatory concerns, and according to Joerg Hofmann of German legal firm Melchers Rechtsanwaelte, further rollbacks could be on the horizon. Read more

4 – New high-level appointments recently announced by Novomatic Lottery Solutions, following its continued growth across global markets. As the group looks to bolster its ongoing global success, NLS has appointed Sabina Berloffa as chief marketing officer; Johann Gisli Sigurdsson as chief operating officer; Manual Bauer as chief technology officer; and Jakob Rothwangl as chief financial officer.
