DiscountIF combines betting with the value of a discounts site

DiscountIF, the runner-up in the 2014 EiG Start-Up Launchpad competition, is hoping for more pitching success in a competition hosted by Richard Branson, the billionaire owner of Virgin Group.

DiscountIF, which allows an individual to combine a product purchase with an event of their choice to create a customised cashback offers, is hoping to reach the final shortlist in the ‘Pitch to Rich’ 2015 competition.

The initiative features companies from various sectors, but DiscountIF, in the Start-Up category, is hoping to collect enough public votes when the polls open from Monday to Wednesday next week.

The winner of the Start-Up category will receive a £150,000 marketing campaign plus mentoring and business advice from Virgin Startup for 12 months, while two runners-up will receive a £50,000 marketing campaign each.

“The experience of pitching at EiG in Berlin last year was very enjoyable, and we learned a lot through the whole process,” DiscountIF chief executive Lewis Holland told TotallyGaming.com.

“We are certainly using what we picked up last year in this process, and we hope we receive enough votes to progress through the competition.

“It’s an exciting time for DiscountIF and we are working towards an updated website launch in the coming months.”

In its pitch, which can be seen here, DiscountIF outlines its experienced team, its concept – a “no-brainer and fun, thrilling way of shopping”, and the early validation from customers and retail partners.
