The inaugural #raiseit campaign delivered 40 million video views

Eric Hollreiser has lauded Cristiano Ronaldo as the perfect spokesperson for PokerStars’ recent Beat The Clock and #raiseit campaigns.

The Real Madrid and Portugal superstar was joined by American basketballer Dwyane Wade for the company’s #raiseit campaign which was launched this week. Ronaldo and Wade battle it out by responding to challenges set by the other in a series of videos posted on social media.

Wade’s ‘Superstar Wake Up’ kicked off the three-month series, which Ronaldo responded to by showcasing his own ‘early morning skills’ in a video captioned ‘Open your eyes @DwyaneWade - this is how I wake up’.

Hollreiser, the Director of Corporate Communications at PokerStars, told TotallyGaming.com: “PokerStars SportsStar Cristiano Ronaldo is fiercely competitive and thinks strategically. These are qualities that attract people to poker and why Ronaldo is a great spokesperson for our Beat The Clock and #raiseit campaigns.

“We hope that not only will #raiseit continue to engage with Ronaldo’s fans and Dwyane Wade’s fans, but also welcome an even wider audience to the world of poker. We anticipate #raiseit will continue to be very popular.”

Ronaldo commented: "Challenges often bring out the best in people and #raiseit is all about that so I'm really happy to be part of it. Creating these videos allowed Dwyane and I to showcase some crazy tricks, and take each other on outside of the pitch and court.  I think I have set the bar high for Dwyane, so we'll see what kind of skills he brings to the table in the next few months."

Totally Gaming says: PokerStars identified Cristiano Ronaldo and Dwyane Wade as the perfect representatives for a campaign which has been developed as a fun take on the poker mentality of raising the stakes and getting ‘one-up’ on your opponent. The company are hopeful that it will prove even more popular than the inaugural #raiseit campaign featuring Neymar Jr and the Brazilian Ronaldo, which delivered over 40 million video views.
