Interview: Games Marketing gets Realistic about growth opportunities

Games Marketing has more than 40 licenced games

Games Marketing has told TotallyGaming.com that it sees its deal with Realistic Games as a springboard to expansion in the UK and abroad.

The table games specialist, owned by Isle of Man-based PGP, has licensed two of its leading side bet products to players of Realistic's Blackjack, which is offered by companies such as Ladbrokes, BetVictor, Bet365, Paddy Power and Boylesports .

The deal is significant for Games Marketing chief executive Chris Reynolds, who told TotallyGaming.com that he sees Realistic as an important partner with access to a huge market of major gambling companies.

"It’s very important," Reynolds told TotallyGaming.com. "They’re a genuine innovator in the online industry and their multi-channel ethos is very similar to our own.

"I think it’s a real compliment that a supplier who produces such good content itself is keen to license two of our side bets.

"Partnering with Rational recently has been significant for us as it opens up a broader customer base for our products. But we have an opportunity with Realistic to expand that even further, thanks to their strong relationship with both UK-facing and emerging mainland European operators."

Formed in 2003, Games Marketing licenses the exclusive online rights to more than 40 games, and will licence ‘Perfect Pairs’ and ‘21+3’ to Realistic.

'Perfect Pairs’ is based on standard Blackjack and allows players to win bonus money by placing a bet on the first two cards producing a pair. Meanwhile, ‘21+3’ sees standard Blackjack joined by a side bet on a three-card-poker hand formed by the player’s first two cards and the dealer’s facing-up card.

Reynolds is positive about the future of side bets, which he believes help operators to provide a unique offering and are increasingly popular among players.

He added: "As is increasingly evident in the land-based environment, where they are enjoying very strong demand, side bets are simple and effective revenue generators.

"We believe they can provide players looking for the perfect snacking game with an added dimension. They’re proven to attract and retain those players across multiple platforms. They also give operators the chance to stand out from the crowd and offer different content. Many will be launching new table games and side bets this year, as a result.

"These, coupled with the adoption of some of the more engaging features from social gaming within RNG and remote live dealer platforms, will provide even more stimulation to the table games sector."

With the Realistic Games deal signed, Games Marketing expects further announcements in the near future, and believes its products offer genuine opportunities to partners for increased revenues.

"We’ll be announcing a number of new deals and game launches in the coming months with partners who recognise the significance of online table games and side bets," said Reynolds.

"We firmly believe our games provide operators with the opportunity to generate significant extra income.

"With regulation and taxation beginning to bite in a number of regulated markets, the need to tap into new revenue streams has never been more pressing."
