Van Lambaart will take over in March

Holland Casino has appointed Erwin van Lambaart, a former television talent show judge, as the chief executive to spearhead its likely privatisation next year.

Van Lambaart is a successful theatre producer, and was head of the Joop van den Ende Theatre, the Dutch branch of Stage Entertainment, from 2006 to 2012. Between 2007 and 2011 he was also a judge on Op zoek naar, a show broadcast on the AVRO network in which a singer was chosen to take the starring role in a stage musical.

Subject to approval by the Dutch Central Bank (De Nederlandsche Bank), van Lambaart will assume his new role from March 7.

“I'm looking forward to shaping the future of the organisation in a challenging market environment,” van Lambaart said.
Confirmation of van Lambaart’s appointment comes after Willem-Jan van den Dijssel left the role of chief executive in August of last year following an expenses scandal.

Aat Schouwenaar, chairman of the Holland Casino supervisory board, added: “He possesses the necessary qualities to lead the company in a challenging period, which is expected to include both the legalisation of online gambling and the liberalisation of the gaming market.”
