Wednesday, August 7, 2013

British betting firm William Hill has refused comment on its ongoing negotiations to buy Australian businessmanTom Waterhouse’s eponymously titled betting operation. Reports are suggesting that the deal, thought to be worth in the region of AU$30m, will be confirmed by the end of the week.

William Hill’s interest in Tom Waterhouse surfaced earlier this year, nearly four months after rival UK bookmaker Ladbrokes denied reports of a possible bid.

William Hill expanded its operations in Australia earlier this year by completing a A$660 million takeover of Sportingbet Australia.
