The campaign to introduce regulated sports betting across the US has gained another high-profile supporter in the form of David Stern, the former commissioner of the NBA basketball league. Stern, who stepped down as commissioner to be replaced by Adam Silver nearly a year ago, told CNBC that he supported his successor’s recent calls for federal regulation of the industry. “Bring the sports leagues in. PokerStars has scrapped a planned increase in the rake – its commission for hosting games – across the majority of its services. The online poker service increased rake levels on November 3 and had planned further increases this year.
