The Irish company are offering a three-month position

Paddy Power has reacted to the Donald Trump-inspired boom in political betting by creating a temporary ‘Head of Trump Betting’ position within the company.

Last year, Trump bets attracted more bets, and of more value, than for any other novelty market on Paddy Power, and significantly more than for the UK's EU Referendum.

The Irish bookmaker, who merged with Betfair in early 2016, will hire someone on a three-month contract to oversee its new ‘Trump Hub’ with over 100 special markets.

The ‘Golden Shower of Trump Odds’ within the ‘Trump Hub’ currently includes enhanced odds for Trump to be impeached, his marriage to Melania to end before his presidency, and for Mexico to directly fund building of the wall on the US border.

Lee Price, PR & Mischief Champion, told TotallyGaming.com: "Head of Trump Betting may sound ridiculous, but then so does 'President Trump'. But our punters love The Donald, or at least betting on him. He's the biggest non-sporting market for us - absolutely yuge!"

Totally Gaming says: Following the huge interest in the 2016 US Presidential Election, Paddy Power has gone all out on Donald Trump specials, despite losing almost £5 million from paying out early on Hillary Clinton reaching the White House. Undeterred by the biggest political payout in its history, the company offered ‘Supersized’ inauguration day markets in January, before launching the ‘Trump Hub’ a month later.
